KINNAUR KAILASH TREK
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kinnaur Kailash is a short but demanding trek. Although it is possible from both sides, it is always done from Thangi to Chitkul. The area was opened to tourists only in 1994 and since then people have started trekking here. The Kailash pilgrimage, however has been an age-old tradition. Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims circle the kinnaur Kailash(Believed to be Lord Shiva) from the right side in a clockwise ‘Parikrama’. The views of the peak(6050m) are magnificent. The Slope near the pass is very steep at times almost 55 degrees. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
