NANDA DEVI BASE CAMP TREK
Nanda-Devi-East
This is one of the famous and easy trek in Uttarakhand due being on the old trading route between Tibet and China, across the Unta Dhura. The route was active until the war between India and China in 1962. Martoli once a prosperous village, is deserted now, with houses  in a state of disrepair. It is a beautiful trek along the Gauri Ganga, dotted by resting ponts’ set up by the British  at regular intervals. the mountain views beyond the glacier are truly rewarding. The side trip to Nanda Devi Base Camp offers spectacular views of the East face. For the experienced trekker, this is also the starting point of the famous Trails Pass Trek.
